Our client is a very successful and fast-expanding company providing cloud software solutions, that help companies manage and control their procurement processes. Smart power apps facilitate strategic sourcing, spend analysis, reporting, vendor rating and governance while transactional processes are fully automated for purchase order management, digital invoice processing and matching. Solutions include e-procurement, expense- and contract management. All solutions are developed, implemented, and supported by teaming up with users and applying a holistic view on the customer’s business. Clients are located Europe wide and are enabled by the offered software solutions to simplify their complex business spend management by digitalization and centralizing all relevant data. Advanced interfacing with ERP systems is part of the solutions, supported by an international partner network. The company is anticipating changes and trends in the procurement business domain all the time and is therefore always one step ahead. To support their rapid growth, professionalize and realize their ambitions, we are looking for a Director Finance.
About the role
You build your own lean and proactive department and are responsible for all Finance, Tax and HR activities. And supportive in legal, mergers and acquisitions. You are MT member and sparring partner for the CEO. Instrumental to select, integrate and make cooperation work with new acquisitions. This means a wider business focus than just finance. Operational engagement is a must in this fast growing and changing environment. As the Director Finance, your typical finance responsibilities include setting a multi-year financial planning and putting in place improved business controls such as KPI and reporting systems on P&L, cashflow etc. Communicating with shareholders, investors and relevant stakeholders, spotting trends, risks and developments are obvious complementary tasks in this role. M&A will be a substantial part of your game. Next to the core finance tasks, you will take on project responsibilities in different fields, such as fleet management, remuneration policy, pensions, legal and insurance matters and purchase. You will create and lead a small team of finance and administrative co-workers, spread over different locations (south and middle of the Netherlands) and develop this team along with the growth of the company and your responsibility area. In this role you:
- will be reporting to the CEO
- will be working closely together with other stakeholders and investors
- will be fulltime based in the headquarters (Mid-south of the Netherlands).
About you
You are an ambitious finance professional with a strong hands-on attitude, driven to grow fast and successfully, both as a company, and as an individual. Not a role for a seasoned CFO doing the third same trick. You are eager and eager to learn. You have energy. You bring energy. You have a strong, independent personality, you are pro-active, entrepreneurial minded and goal oriented. With your analytical skills, you are able to underpin with conviction decisions on (commercial) opportunities. While ratio is your lead, your interpersonal skills show a positive involvement with the company and its employees and stakeholders. You are able to shift gears, change approach, should an opportunity, or a problem to solve, require this. Communicating and representing are qualities you possess, but you are equally not holding back when it comes to executing operational tasks. This makes you suitable to fit in a scale-up organization with ambition in a fast changing environment. Furthermore, you:
- are acting on an academic level, holding a master’s degree in business economics, and/or have an additional RA or RC qualification
- have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a business control department or an accounting firm
- have experience in a leading role with a broad financial responsibility
- have experience with operational financial tasks, preferably in ICT service industry, preferably also international
- may have experience with banking or financing, private equity, which is considered a plus
- are conceptually strong to develop the financial processes and organization
- are a strong personality and a resilient independent go-getter;
- are a strong communicator, know how to convince and get people on board, at all levels;
- are fluent in Dutch and English
